It’s time to tell the truth,
A gilded mind, so uncouth.
I always choose to ride in the backseat,
So nothing bad will ever happen to me.
I usually avoid confrontation,
But I need to tell you before you find out for yourself:
I was never known for keeping my word,
But I know what I stand for.
A spine forged from hindsight,
I never noticed before now, the hollow serenity in this place.
Anger, sadness, hate, distrust.
So let me tell you:
I’m not sure why I’m here,
I’m a man still made of fear,
So much regret, living in me,
But I will make amends whether or not you see,
I struggle with myself every day,
I struggle with my mind’s decay,
“You’ll never change" they say.
But I don’t care what they say.
